Why is now a good time to make summer upgrades to your home? The warmer, dry weather means you can work outside, open windows and doors to air the house or dry paint. Some upgrades are especially well suited to the summer.

Install Air-Conditioning
Summer comes with hot weather, so air conditioning is even more desirable as a home upgrade. Hot summer weather can be a problem in the house, especially if all the family are at home for the summer months for vacation. To make the heat less of a problem, install air-conditioning so you can keep your home at a comfortable temperature.
Air-conditioning will cool you down during the warmest months, but it can also help to provide your home with much cleaner air to breathe, as it filters the air around you. However, if you find that running the air-conditioning is not practical for you financially, you could choose to have window conditioning as a summer upgrade. Renovate your windows for better air circulation and to keep your family safer.

Painting
A lot of people put off making this summer upgrade to their home because of the amount of time that repainting a house takes. However, it is an upgrade that does need doing sometimes. Repainting the exterior of your home is important, as it locks out moisture and prevents mould and mildew from forming. If these aren’t prevented, they can cause a lot of damage to your walls and can even have a negative effect on your health. Repainting also makes your home look more attractive from the curb, and it can also help to increase the value of your home if you want to put it on the market.
Some people focus on painting the interior of their home, but if you decide to repaint the exterior, it can increase its visual appeal and make a better first impression. Some people claim that the colour that you choose to paint your home can give different returns on investment. If you are selling your home, it’s suggested to choose blue, grey, or charcoal, although it’s probably wisest to stay consistent with the colours of your neighbours for the outside.
