(AD | GIFTED) I couldn’t believe that I would fall in love with a set of cutlery this much. This has to be my favourite toddler essential of all time. It feels like it was designed specifically for my toddler to teach him to hold and use cutlery properly. We struggled so much watching my toddler Michael try to bring his food all the way towards his mouth. It only took him the end of his first use to actually get all of his rice into his mouth! I couldn’t be happier to have come across this great company and am in love with the lime green ergonomic cutlery set.

Doddl Toddler Ergonomic Cutlery Set – Product Review

The Doddl ergonomic cutlery set has been designed to help children from 12 months+ to hold and use a knife, fork and spoon properly until they are ready for their own pair of adult cutlery. They are made to last and made from high-quality BPA free materials and is dishwasher safe. They come in pink, blue and lime. I absolutely love the colours as they’re fun, vibrant and cute.

The handles

The handles of the ergonomic cutlery set are designed in such a way to make it as simple as possible for toddlers to hold. It feels as though they were thoroughly tested to withstand every single manoeuvre that a toddler can make. This is true as before using these, by the time the spoon met Michael’s mouth, there was nothing there. He was frustrated and didn’t want to continue with his meal. With this ergonomic cutlery set, Michael has now managed to fill his mouth with food and looks forward to mealtimes. When we set the table he runs to the kitchen to find his fork or spoon himself. He gets excited and that makes me very happy! #happybabyhappymummy

I love that the handles from the ergonomic cutlery set have a soft-touch area giving it a non-slip grip making it easier to hold and use. This really helps their hand-eye co-ordination. It is easy to see that Michael enjoys holding the cutlery and is very comfortable. When he is using the fork, he can easily turn it around and use it for picking up food or scooping.

The handles of the Doddl ergonomic cutlery set are curved ever so cleverly and are the perfect shape for the small hand of babies and toddlers to make it easy to use. It’s the perfect progression from baby-led weaning taking them onto the next step of using cutlery correctly with their food.

The knife and fork

Another great feature is that the ergonomic cutlery set comes with a knife and fork that is sharp enough to cut through your food but at the same time is certified as completely safe for babies. They cannot cut themselves with it. I love the fact that the angle of the cutlery allows children to learn how to use the utensils easily. For example, he can learn to cut food properly using the knife.

Verdict

I am absolutely in love with the Doddl ergonomic cutlery set and would recommend them to any and all parents of children who are 12 months+. This should be your go-to baby and toddler essential when it comes to weaning and learning to eat.
