When it comes to selling your home, you want to make it appealing to your buyers. Naturally, a lot of attention will go to repairing any areas that have aged, and ensuring that the home is ready for people to move into. The best way to do this is by home staging. This is a process where the seller (or its agent) creates the “perfect” home. All the clutter is removed, furniture is moved around and decor is changed up. You want to paint a picture for the buyers of what their “forever home” will look like. One that they have to put an offer in at first sight.

Home staging allows you to make a statement when selling your home. If you want to realise a higher price on the sale, then it’s worth looking at making it stand out. If people leave a viewing feeling like they have to make an offer, you’re going to be looking at an easier, and potentially more lucrative sale. And while some people suggest that a kitchen is what sells a house, the truth is that a dream living room will really grab potential buyers.
Lighting that will dazzle them
The correct use of statement lighting can take a room to the next level in a way that we’re only just getting to grips with – from underlit cupboards in the kitchen to warm lighting in the bathroom. And in the living room, too, a special lighting choice can draw people to it.
You might choose a chandelier here, as these always grab the attention – but also consider bold lamps in any alcoves that you have – they’ll offer some extra drama and glamour in this space.

Home staging with a dynamic paint job
It’s been fashionable for a while now to pick one wall in your living room and paint it in a bold colour, leaving the others in a standard magnolia or warmer white. However, if you pick the right colours and work with expert residential painters and decorators, you can push the boat out a little more by painting the entire room in something more interesting than the norm. Darker greys are popular, while a more earthy green is said to encourage creativity. It’s not a bad thing if your prospective buyers leave with their heads full of decor ideas.

Make the smart choice for your home
The popularity of tech in the 2020s is dependent on how tech is used. While people are appreciating a more rustic, basic feel to the functional areas of the home, the presence of smart tech in the comfort areas is undeniably attractive. If you can sit in your favourite chair and control your entire home that will definitely enthral potential buyers. Ensure that items like the smart thermostat and TV control will still be functional when you have moved out, and confirm with potential buyers that you’ll leave full instructions on how to hook them up via their phones when the internet supplier changes over, and your hi-tech home can be a big selling point.
