One of my favourite colour palettes for fall has to be neutrals. They work so well so the autumn falling leaves and rusty and burnt orange tones! Neutral colours include beige, cream, tan and white. And of course, accents of black can be woven into your fashion outfits to bring everything together. When it comes to choosing my autumns outfits I want to be comfortable and chic. When I see a great neutral outfit it screams Parisian Autumn chic to me!

For the perfect fall fashion outfit, there are a few staple pieces that just work so well together allowing you to create an endless (and effortless) amount of outfits from it.
The Skirt
Skirts can be hard to pair and dress not only when you’re finding it so hard to pair with the perfect top but also when you’re looking for a flattering skirt to fit your body shape. I am not a petite type of girl nor am I tall. I am somewhat slim but curvy in all the right places. With my body frame, I find it a little hard to find the right kind of skirt to suit. One of my fave skirt styles has to be an A-Line skirt. With autumn all around us currently, I am looking at neutral colours and opt for tan. In terms of material, faux leather is a winner as it really brings a great chic look and feel to your outfit.
The Cardigan
One of my favourite wardrobe staples has to be the cardigan! This item is a must in every woman’s closet! It is so versatile, easy to layer and such a great item to bring an outfit together. It’s perfect for autumn, winter and spring, and depending on the type of cardigan, can be worn in the summer too! I don’t leave my home without a cardigan because it’s the perfect cover-up as if it’s cold I’ve got it on, if it warms up, I just remove!
The Shoes
You can never beat the perfect ballerina when it comes to an effortless neutral autumn chic look. They are flat so can be worn by pretty much anyone whether you are a busy mama, boss babe or high exec! I don’t tend to wear heels much if I am honest. I wish I could wear them out more but I’m more of a sneaker, flats and ballet shoe type of gal. If I could I would have a ballet shoe for each outfit. Once again, I am really loving the two-tone look at the moment, and these ballerinas tick all the boxes.

I also pretty much love pumps with a low block heel. They are so sophisticated and chic. They really make any outfit look for luxury, rich and put together. For a more summer look we can opt for a neutral slider. They’re great for the warmer weathers when being in shoes for most of the day can make you sweat. I love sandals for the summer and sliders are increasingly becoming my go-to sandals.
The Bag
The crossbody bag is a must-have for a chic pulled together and effortless look. They are easy to style and most importantly are not bulk and chunky. I would opt for a small (perhaps a medium for the right bag) sized cross-body bag. My current favourite one has to be this gorgeous Tory Birch 2-tone neutral look cross-body bag. It is perfect for outfits that incorporate both black and beige colours and bring the outfit together pretty well.
Other high-end luxury brands that I have had my eyes on have to be Gucci, Prada and Chanel for me. I am desperately in love with the crossbody bags by Gucci and have been so lucky to have been bought a gorgeous Autumn-ready crossbody (US link) by my family for my birthday! It truly is gorgeous and super practical. It leaves me hands-free to run around after the boys. Plus it can be worn with pretty much any outfits, through all seasons and will last a very long time. It is definitely an investment. In terms of price, it retails around £970 if I remember correctly.
The Top
A body is a perfect addition to the neutral autumn chic look. There’s no hanging or loose tops to worry about. They go great with a-line skirts and high-waisted pants. If you can pull off a comfortable and chic looking body then it’s a closet staple for sure. I would go for a black body to have in your wardrobes.

The Jeans
When someone asks me what I feel most comfortable in, my first answer isn’t really leggings (even though I love them so much) but jeans! I LOVE ripped or distressed jeans in a mid-wash colour. I just love the way it looks on and as long as they’re comfy then that’s all I really need. My 2 most favourite pairs are from H&M and Abercrombie.
You can never go wrong with Abercrombie as their collection of different styles (low, mid or high waist, long, cropped, skinny etc) is truly vast. For a neutral chic look, a pair of black jeans is a must! Black jeans really do make all the difference when it comes to putting together a Parisian style, neutral-shade chic autumn outfit. I would also say cropped denim jeans make a great transitional piece that takes your fashion outfits from summer to autumn seamlessly and you don’t even have to do a wardrobe changeover!
The Designer Item
I know that not everyone (myself included) can afford a luxury designer item. But if you have made the decision to invest in a designer handbag or shoes that is on the luxury end of the price tag, then go for it. We only live once and as long as you have budgeted properly for that item (and most importantly it does not interfere with any of your living and eating expenses) then it’s ok to splurge on yourself.

It’s important that we don’t always deny ourselves that something pretty and in all honesty there are many different price points available for a designer item depending on the brand. For example, Tory Burch, Michael Kors and Coach all have amazing bags and/ or shoes that are both high end yet more or less affordable. Their items are so pretty and I personally have managed to save a little to purchase my Michael Kors handbag. The one bag that is very Parisian style and will never go out of fashion has to be the Chanel envelope style bag! It truly is iconic. So if you have your eye on that designer bag then use a smart budget to save a little self-care dollars on yourself and splurge for yourself!

Some great ideas! I updated my winter work wardrobe in Zara this week and bought all neutrals or black including the faux leather a-line mini! I may have to wait a while to wear it all as it’s still 34C degrees here in Spain!
Oooh sounds like you got some great items! Would love to see them!
