Hello everyone and welcome to my first blog post. I decided to start a little product review series for you where I will be going through my favourite baby products, the essential baby products my mummy (and me) need and baby products that are just no good. For my first review I will be going through the Mothercare baby bath mat and baby seat which my lovely and thoughtful mummy bought me to make bath times more easier for herself, safer for me and fun for both of us. However, the end result was definitely not what she expected.

Mothercare Baby Bath Mat & Baby Seat
The bath mat never stuck to the bath tub properly and always felt like it was floating above the water. The bath seat was not easy to get into, not comfortable to sit in and actually scratched my tummy. Obviously I like to wriggle around a lot but no matter how still I could sit or what I did I still managed to scratch myself.
My bottom didn’t fit inside the seat so comfortably so I wouldn’t recommend it to the more well fed babies like me! It’s designed for more petite babies who can probably slide in and out without flinching!

Design
I cannot fault the aesthetic design of the product. This bath mat and seat are very pretty! The design is a baby light blue with cute patterns! It also comes in pink for girls!
Now the actual design of the mat and bath seat itself is a little more disappointing. It wasn’t designed for more chubbier babies and is very difficult for me to sit in and come out of it without my mum struggling a whole load. Once I am in I cannot move a muscle not even to reach out in front of me to grab my bath toys!
I myself love splashing about and playing with all my toys but this little invention was created to stop me in my tracks I bet! My advice to my mum (and you other mummies) forget the seat – I am not one to sit still for a long period and my body built is not ideal for those types of seats! A normal bath mat to prevent me from slipping is more suitable for me!
Durability
We only used this bath mat and baby bath seat twice so I cannot comment on how durable it was but it just didn’t sit well in the bath. It didn’t suction properly and kept floating up above the water. Not really what you want from a bath mat. It did make bath time fun for me so
How easy is it to use?
The first time we tried to use it, my mummy had to fiddle around with it a little before getting me in the bath so it didn’t seem so easy. The second time, it wasn’t so easy either as the mat wouldn’t stick to the bath. It just kept floating up. It didn’t bother me because I was just playing but the seat was very uncomfortable – maybe because it didn’t stick properly to the bathtub. To pull it of the bathtub is even harder unfortunately.

Does it do what it say’s on the tin?
The idea behind this product is wonderful and practical. Can you sit a baby in it while you are washing them? Yes. The product does what it says but the fact that it isn’t so well done makes this product not so wonderful!
Verdict?
Mummy is returning this item to Amazon Prime. We have decided it does not work for us. I don’t like sitting in it. My cute little bum doesn’t really fit in the seat properly even though they state age-wise I fit! Also my tummy kept scratching against the seat and left little burn marks 😥 so definitely a no from me! I think I’ll be fine without a seat thank you mum…but can compromise on buying a plain bath mat instead. So I don’t slip of course whilst wriggling around the bath!
Side point – my mummy loves Amazon Prime membership (here is the US link). Our lives have never been the same. Delivery is sooo fast and prices are great. You can give it a go with no commitments by signing up for a 30 day free trial to really see how amazing it is. If after 30 days you don’t want it, just cancel the subscription renewal and that’s it (just read the fine print before you do to not get caught out accidentally). Nothing to lose. But if you find you now cannot live without it, you only pay £79 per year and the benefits are incredible:

Can anyone other yummy mummies recommend any other bath mats for me??
Hopefully you enjoyed my first review – be sure to give me a thumbs up to make my day.
