As a tradition, I thought I would do a short little post on my New Year’s resolutions for 2021 – but this year I will be focusing on my GOALS and INTENTIONS for 2021, not resolutions. Pro Tip: goals and intentions are easier to achieve then resolutions, as they involve actionable steps.
2020 Recap
Looking back in hindsight 2020 was an amazing year. At the time, for many of us, it was very strange and difficult to handle. 2020 brought me my little prince charming who was born in December 2019 and made the new year great. My sweet angel is now 13 months and has a lot of teeth. He is walking (well wobbling) around and really looks like he may start talking very soon.
My Toddler
My toddler is now 2.5 years old and definitely challenging me at every turn. Yes, it is true little kids come with the terrible twos; I just thought I escaped them. With my toddler, we are battling potty training – which is up and down at the minute. Feels like for every step we go forward we take 5 back!! His speech is improving and he is working hard at getting all of his words out.
Lockdown
We have been pretty much in lockdown (just like everyone else) since March 2020 and well the first 6-8 week we literally didn’t leave home at all – not even for exercise. I let the boys hang out on the balcony for their daily dose of fresh air. Once things started settling in England we finally started going to the park and my toddler couldn’t believe it. Hubby’s parental leave ended up flowing straight into lockdown and lasting something like 11 months. He is finally back at work since November – he is one of those that “if cannot work from home go to work” kinda guys.
Holidays
We did manage to get out of London with our little staycation in July for 2 weeks visiting North Devon followed by Cornwall which was AMAZING!! I miss it so much, We had a great (and not so little) house in North Devon as we were the first ones in as soon as the National Lockdown ended in July. So it was great fun. In Cornwall, we had a penthouse flat facing the sea.

We also managed to go away for a week to Gloucester in September into a perfect little cottage style home. Then we even ate out to help out, which unfortunately was followed by tier lockdowns, national lockdown, another tier lockdown and finally here we are in January 2021 and back in another National Lockdown.
My Family
My family got the worst of lockdown as we have a restaurant in London and the hospitality industry was hit the hardest for sure. But we are all positive people and the best of this year was spending undivided (even a little too much I’d say) time with the family. My kids had their grandparents around all the time so they were pretty happy.
2020 Goals that I set myself last year
I did work on my blog quite a lot and raised its popularity including my domain authority. This was a great achievement for me. I even managed to post 3 blog posts each week. I changed my career path and started a Professional Home Organising business. You can check out my Instagram page if you need any tips or want to hire me!! You can even check out some of the organising projects I have completed. I’ve even got a FREE 5-Day Email Challenge coming up on the 18th January if you wanted to join!!
I was supposed to create a planner app but didn’t get around to that resolution if I am honest. I did, however, start a new planner side business where I will be creating my own planner inserts, dashboards, accessories, stickers and physical planners for sale. Check out my IG page and follow along as I launch the website and business in 2021. My overall goal for my planner business is to launch my own planners for content creators, mums, bloggers/ influencers and business owners!
My Goals for 2021 are…
One of the more important goals I have for this year is to save money for a deposit on a house. My little boys need a garden, their own room and plenty of space for their toys. I have a perfect house in mind – my forever dream home. But I am also a realist and know that there may be a few houses before our forever home. Especially as there are a few factors to consider before settling on a great home. With this goal comes budgeting and saving. Now, this is the hard part as it means I need to cut back on some spending and as you know my weakness is planners and Amazon.
The other main goal for 2021 is to work on my businesses: getting at least 5 clients to work with for my organising business. For my planner business: design, create and start selling my planners. These goals are broad enough to leave me with quite a long list of things to do in order to achieve it.
Finally, apart from building on my businesses and focusing on being financially free, I want to get in shape. After both my boys, I have a few stretch marks and a mummy tummy that needs sorting. How will I achieve this? Yoga, pilates and a somewhat healthy diet.
Closing Words
Being happy and healthy is an important goal for everyone’s list. This is especially true with all of the craziness we are facing in the world today. Whatever you have planned for 2021, stay safe, be happy and be positive even about the lockdown. Don’t forget – these moments we live every day and time we have with our loved ones cannot be brought back.
What goals and intentions have you set yourself for 2021?
Happy New Year & God bless
Til next time
