For today’s Productivity tip, here are a few reasons why you should stay more organised:
Less for you to manage
Whether it’s paperwork, kitchen or even the kid’s rooms, if you are more organised there is less for you to manage on an everyday basis. For example, if you have a good cleaning schedule worked out you do a little on each day and know what’s coming, you have less to manage.
Less to find a home for
By having an organised home and of course less stuff there are fewer things for you to worry about finding a home for.
Less to put away & tidy
When you have an organised home with fewer things, and everything has a home there is less to put away. Once you have a good schedule and routine in place you will have less to tidy as all the hard work would have been done in advance.
Less visual distraction
An organised home with everything in its place simplified and stored away there is less visual distraction. Less visual distraction means less stress and worry. The visual distraction causes chaos in your head. Chaos puts a big dent in your day because you’re always thinking, no matter what you’re out doing, about the mess at home. Plus it’s so much harder to find anything when everything is in front of you all over the place.
Less headspace is taken up
When you’re focus and headspace is not always on cleaning and organising your home (as we all know how stressful it can be to make sure your home is clean and tidy) your head is emptier and calm. You automatically have more headspace, more time on your hands and more money (for buying less stuff). With more headspace, you are more productive and focussed on the more important parts of your day and life i.e. your children!! I know I definitely need to put this into practice as I personally spend all day every day worrying about decluttering and organising all of my cupboards as I have A LOT of stuff!
